Educational Activities and Training to the Digital Local History Walks

This project supported by the International Visegrad Fund, and delivered by Zachor Foundation and its partners in the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia builds on the results of previous Visegrad Fund supported projects. We developed video-testimony based local history walks in 4 locations in the Visegrad countries. The walks are accessible and freely downloadable in the international IWalk mobile app. The developed innovative, mobile app-based educational tools deal with local history, remembrance and encourage civic participation.

Building on these results we are developing follow-up digital educational programs and teacher training in all 4 countries.

The current project aims to strengthen the regional aspect of the project and focuses on pilots and teacher trainings via a thorough regional collaboration. We will utilize the previously developed language versions of the developed IWalks and focus on acquainting educators with the educational program as well as on student pilots. In order to support the classroom follow-up of the previously developed materials we will develop interactive, digital, reflective educational activities on the international IWitness educational platform.

By the end of the project students will be able to experience all 4 IWalks virtually and complete reflective follow-up activities. Thus they will be able to develop an understanding of the region's shared and local history.
